Between buying everyone a Christmas present and being robbed by British Gas, my budget will not be accommodating a new outfit for each of the upcoming festivities – and I’m guessing yours won’t either. This time of year can be so expensive, so as an early Christmas present to you, I’ve put together six fabulous Christmas party looks that you can recreate with pieces you already own… probably. Even if you are missing one or two things, these looks are anchored around basic pieces and can be used as inspiration and adapted based on what you already own.

A sparkly skirt and basic T combo never misses, striking the perfect balance between casual and glam. I’ve styled this outfit with a leather blazer and Doc Martens, but you could go in any direction with the coat and shoes (a faux fur coat and kitten heels would be really fun here, for example).
If you’re wearing tights, I beg you not to shove on any bobbly pair of 40 deniers from the supermarket. In other words, don’t skimp on the tights. Here I’m wearing a lovely brown pair from Calzedonia. They have a nice sheerness, yet they haven’t snagged and still look perfect after at least 20 wears (which is record-breaking for me). I also much prefer brown tights over black; I think they look softer and blend into the outfit more, but that’s just a personal preference!
If you’re wearing a mini skirt styled with a little jacket, remember you can always throw a big oversized long coat over the top which you can whip off when you get inside.
A sparkly skirt is one of those items you will get tonnes of wear out of year after year. If you’re looking for specific statement pieces, Vinted and Depop are great places to start – options are endless and you can find some real gems.

You can never go wrong with all black, but for an elevated monochrome look, try mixing up the textures. As this gorgeous sequin waistcoat is cropped and tight-fitting, I’ve balanced the look with a pair of high-waisted, long, flowing silk trousers. I’ve also added some height with high-heeled black boots which are nearly invisible under the long trousers. This is a great way to elongate your legs and create the illusion of being taller (something I’m always looking to achieve at my big height of 5ft 2”).

The star of this look is another pair of tights from Calzedonia, embellished with diamantes this time. Options for sparkled and bejewelled fashion tights are endless these days, and they are such an easy way to make an outfit appropriate for the festive season. You likely already own a black top, mini skirt and boots. Add a fun pair of tights and your favourite jewellery and you’ll be bang on theme for any Christmas party.

A simple silk shirt barely tucked into a mini is one of my favourite looks for a night out. The relaxed, loose-fitting top balances out the short hemline creating a cheeky yet chic and effortless look. I also love how the lack of anything fitted around your stomach means you can eat as much as you like without feeling restrained or conscious! I’ve gone for the same embellished tights and knee-high boots as the previous look here, just to show you another way you could style the outfit if you don’t feel like wearing something super tight.

A silk skirt is one of the most versatile items you can have in your wardrobe. It transcends every season and works for so many occasions depending on how it is styled. This outfit in particular gives me Carrie Bradshaw vibes; a simple white tank top, a silver satin maxi skirt and these stunning silver heels from Charles & Kieth, which are not only super comfortable, but go with everything. The metallic elements make this outfit Christmas party-appropriate, so try to incorporate these if you use this look as inspiration.

- Satin Maxi Skirt (found on Vinted, similar linked)
- Silver Kitten Heels

Jeans and a nice top Christmas edition this time. I’ve opted for a pair of dark, wide-leg black denim jeans and a sparkly top, and brought back the kitten heels to keep the outfit from bridging into “too casual” territory. A ponytail or slicked-back bun and statement earrings would also look great with this outfit, which is perfect if you want to play it somewhat safe or avoid being too dressy for your holiday party.

Regardless of what you wear, I truly hope your holiday celebrations are incredible! I’ll leave you with one final bit of advice: do NOT sink glass after glass of wine or Prosecco at ANY corporate event this Christmas. It is the cheapest, nastiest crap going and will induce a hangover that makes you pray for death the next day (apparently).
